What's in the Bible and How Do I Use it?: Real Help fo Regular People

Published in 2008 by Abingdon Press, this little book is a great overview of the Bible for newbies and veteran Bible students alike. It's a guide to personal Bible study that is written for "regular people," as it states in the title.

I especially like the "Where to Find" chapter. Familiar expressions that originated in the Bible are connected to chapter and verse. Bible characters, places, and events are summarized so that you can get a grip on the big picture before delving into details. There's also a read-the-Bible-in-a year section at the end.

I plan to keep my copy handy for reference. It would be a good book for a group study for teens or any group wanting to get an overview of the Bible.

It's on sale now at Cokesbury. Or, check it out on Amazon using the "Look Inside" feature.
