Subtitle is 365 Amazing and Inspiring Stories about Saints, Martyrs, and Heroes. This book was previously published in 1997 as simply On This Day.
The book is well organized in a daily devotion format. Each reading is one page long and includes a Bible verse. The stories are heart-wrenching at times. Most modern-day Christians have no idea how people have suffered and died for their Christian convictions over the 2,000 years of its existence. This book tells the stories of Christian heroes in small doses. Most people would not sit down and read a book about a single Christian hero, but they can handle one synopsis a day. The book is a great tool for learning and teaching Christian history.
Because it's designed to be read one-day-at-a-time, I found it hard to read it straight through for the purpose of this review. If you read it as a daily devotion, though, I think you will be inspired to witness for your faith as you learn about the witness of those who came before.
This is the second newly-published book I have reviewed recently that turned out to be a second edition or re-write of a previously published book. I think the publisher should mention that on the cover so that customers would not buy the book thinking it's new only to find out that they already had the older version.
